Americans for Financial Reform Education Fund joined Climate Cabinet Education and Public Citizen in a letter urging the National Association of Insurance Commissioners to improve their Residential Mitigation Grant Program Model Act draft. The organizations supported the adoption of the model law and urged the NAIC to amend the draft legislation to ensure that programs established by this legislation are (a) funded by the insurance industry, (b) accessible to low-and moderate-income (LMI) households, and (c) provide meaningful cost savings to policyholders.
