AFREF joined over 100 housing organizations in opposition to HUD’s proposed Equal Access to HUD Programs in Housing rule, which would promote discrimination against LGBTQ+ families in HUD-supported housing. Convened by the Housing Justice Network, the letter condemns the proposed rule as a cruel and baseless attack on LGBTQ+ families rooted in untrue, harmful, and dangerous stereotypes about transgender people, and urges HUD to withdraw this proposed rule in its entirety.
