Americans for Financial Reform wholeheartedly affirms that Black Lives Matter and that anti-Black racism is unacceptable and must be eliminated. We stand in solidarity with the families of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and the millions of Black people subject to racial oppression, violence, and murder at the hands of the police and of white supremacists. And we stand in solidarity with those who are organizing to demand justice.

The financial system has always been a powerful instrument of wealth extraction from Black people, and it continues to profit from incarceration and brutality. Transforming it is one interconnected ingredient of the change this country needs. Guided by principles of racial justice, we are determined to contribute to this transformation.
