AFR: Dodd Makes Right Call To Move Forward

Dodd’s Leadership Means Accountability for Wall St is Within Reach

Washington, DC – Americans for Financial Reform released the following statement regarding Senate Banking Chairman Chris Dodd’s decision to move forward on financial reform.

Heather Booth, Executive Director, Americans for Financial Reform: “We applaud Sen. Dodd’s decision to move forward on financial regulatory reform. While we would have hoped both sides of the aisle could have come to a consensus on the bill as a whole, the need to rein in the greedy and reckless behavior of big banks is too important to be delayed by partisan bickering. We appreciate Sen. Dodd’s leadership on real financial reform that will protect working families and small businesses and are pleased that he will adhere to our shared principles. AFR looks forward to working with him on a draft that will crack down on abuses, hold Wall Street accountable and create a strong, independent Consumer Financial Protection Agency.”
