Politico.com recently posted an article about President Obama’s new proposals to rein in Wall Street, and mentioned the efforts of Americans for Financial Reform, especially in generating petitions and letters to Congress.
“But those who like the new populist turn in Obama’s style were quick to jump in with support. Americans for Financial Reform — a coalition of consumer, labor and other progressive groups pushing for pro-consumer reforms — is running a letter-writing and petition drive, urging senators to support the administration’s proposed financial crisis responsibility fee, as well as the consumer financial protection agency that’s in serious danger of being cut from the Senate financial reform bill.”
