Senate and House Conference Committee on Financial Reform

Now that the Senate and House have both passed financial reform legislation, they will meet in a Conference Committee to hammer out the differences between their two bills.  (See posts about the House bill here, Senate here.)

This means that the fight for strong reform isn’t over yet! Many important decisions will be made in this conference.  Call Congress at (202) 224-3121 and tell your Representative to push for the strongest law possible to protect consumers, investors, and taxpayers.

If you are represented by a Senator or House Member on the Conference Committee, your call is especially important!  Check the lists below to see who is on the Committee.  If your Senator or Representative is listed, call (202) 224-3121 and ask to speak with him or her.  Tell him or her to:

  • support the strongest financial reform bill possible,
  • work to rein in risky casino economy,
  • protect consumers,
  • and stop the Goldman-Sachs-style conflicts of interest which were so disastrous to our economy.
