Protesters at Bank of America Call for a Freeze on Foreclosures

Consumer rights activists staged a protest inside the Bank of America building in St. Louis on March 24th.  The protesters, organized as part of the People’s Settlement, called for a freeze on foreclosures and specifically sought a conversation with Jack Shackett, Bank of America’s Credit Loss Mitigations Strategies Executive, who they hoped would talk to two homeowners who were facing foreclosure.

The protest earned them attention from local media outlets, including KSDK and KMOX Radio.  Click here for the KSDK coverage and here for the KMOX story.

The People’s Settlement is made up of Missourians Organizing for Reform and Empowerment (MORE), the St. Louis Instead of War Coalition (IOW), Show Me No Hate, Transhaven, Literacy for Social Justice Teachers, Catholic Action Network (CAN), and other social justice organizations.
