On the Approval of Nominations of Quarles and Otting

“This pair of nominations represents a return to the failed regulatory policies that led to consumer ripoffs and Wall Street financial crisis,” said Marcus Stanley, policy director at Americans for Financial Reform. “Randal Quarles was a key member of the Bush Administration team that failed to prevent the disastrous 2008 financial crisis, while as a top executive at OneWest, Joseph Otting personally profited as it robo-signed documents to foreclosure on ordinary American families.”
